I know that the blouse dress is all the rage just now… I’m not sure if that’s its official title but you know which dress i mean the one that looks like your wearing a high waisted skirt and a nice wee blouse, when in fact you are wearing a dress!
Well, I love that dress I have a really nice one from H&M’s which was intially a ‘going out’ dress but has now been relegated to my ‘work’ side of the wardrobe! I think a nice alternative to this dress maybe a two tone dress which would in my opinion most definatley stay in the ‘going out’ side.
I really like these styles in American Apparel;

Two Tone Fitted Mini Dress

Cotton Spandex Sleeveless Nightlife Dress
I think my next shopping trip I will deffo be purchasing of the yellow one! Woo Hoo! If I could afford it I would love to snap up these wee items as well to make the perfect outfit; given the tightness of the dress I feel I need to ‘masculinise’ it to make it look a little less Pretty Woman.

The watch is vintage Swatch, shoes are Louboutin and the rest is good ole faithful Topshop!

Gok Wan's detailed shoulders
I know I have already declared my love for va-va-voom sleeves, but did anyone see last Thursdays Gok Wan Fashion Fix. Weeeeeeell, he showed how to funk your sleeves up, big time.
He basically took this shirt and sewed thread through the sleeves, pulled them so it all ruffles up and voila you got yourself some dandy new shoulders!

The premier of the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2 was held last night in New York, and my haven’t those youngsters turned out well!
Back in 2005 who would have known that the lesser known of the fledgling actresses, i.e. America Ferrera and Blake Lively, would come to outshine the other two, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel… the sheer success of their television careers I think also may have played a minor role in the bringing back of this rom com. I haven’t actually seen the first, but as I am a rom com fan I will make sure i do and will check out the sequel when it is released.
Check out the photos below for the premier’s then (2005) and now (2008 ) photos!

I don’t care if I have a big bum; I really want a mini skirt… like really bad!
I already own a sack top style one from Primark but given that it was bought for about £8 it is a little badly fitting. When I first got it I have to admit that I was a little hesitant about getting the ole thunder thighs out but after taking several baby steps (with the help of some very loud tights) I finally braved having my pins out!

Interlock Mini Skirt at AA
My next venture is a mini skirt from American Apparel… you know which one I mean! The one that you see celebs wearing under loose tops in that casual Rachel Zoe L.A way, the one that I am actually positive I saw on Cameron Diaz looking a bit baggy…

Cameron Diaz working the mini casual
the one that I will no doubt spend hours of anguish debating over whether my arse will actually fit into it, then I have the ordeal of how large and dimpled it will look (graphic I know, but hey I am a size 12- ok technically I am a 12 my bum is probably a 14 because I was blessed with one of those ridiculous bubble bums that nothing seems to flatter. At all.
Anyways, I am after a skin tight, spray on, sling me into it, mini skirt! I intend to wear it with pride, alongside all those skinny minnies, with old skool rock t-shirts, tanned legs and lots of chunky jewellery… maybe a few studs thrown in for good measure to ham up the whole 80’s look.

Is it just me or is this Fendi bag amazing??

It is totally in key with this seasons bold colours, and hey its Fendi you can’t complain!
For those still lingering on the Sex and the City Movie outfits, it is worth pointing out that it bears some resemblance to the orange clutch Carrie is toting with that dress.

This
bag is currently on sale at Net-a-Porter £635 down to £476!! Bargain!

Alice Dellal
I am big believer in if it looks kinda wrong then it is usually soooooo right, anyone else out there like that? Well I feel this way about supermodel Alice Dellal. When I first saw her I thought she was far too weird and too 80s for my liking, but slowly over time I have really started to like her, in fact I have developed a mild obsession with her! Only joking, no need for a restraining order!
I think that it would very difficult to copy her look as it is very individual, but funnily enough it reminds me of the way my brother used to dress (bar the fish net tights and denim cut offs) in the early 90’s when he was going through a major Kurt Cobain phase. If I remember correctly Doc Martins, a plaid shirt and a leather jacket were the done thing; maybe a little plaid dress (as seen in the window of Topshop this past weekend) paired with some Doc’s, fishnets, and a cute leather cropped jacket would be a nice girly variation of this look…

Can you believe it has been 50 years since Breakfast at Tiffanys?? Not that I was around when it was released mind! But it is still amazing to think that something that was made 50 years ago still holds so much weight.

Whenever the little black dress swings back into fasion we automatically think of Holly Golightly dressed to the nines, big hair, pearls, the works… Audrey Hepburn was and still does remain a style icon, her character in Breakfast in Tiffanys embodies the little black dress and I often long to wear one so stylishly as she does.

The movie itself is a classic, it has inspired so many love stories since, and I consider it one of my fav’s, up there with Dirty Dancing and Pretty in Pink! Lol! Happy Birthday Holly!

Following the sombre dress code the Brit gals are all looking pretty good at the Dark Knight Premier. I hear Kelly Osbourne got a bit of stick for her dress but I think she looks good, I’m not a big fan of Miss O but even I can admit she looks in not bad shape and I predict that lace dresses will be big news this winter, also glad to see her yuck tattoo’s on her feet haven’t spoiled her sophisticated look. I also really like Alexa Chung’s outfit, once again she has pulled off a ‘I just threw this together’ outfit which looks fabbo! Not really a fan of Peaches Geldof, although am glad to see she used all her Ebay profits to buy a nice wee PPQ dress.
