My Feathery Friend
June 11, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Whilst at the Vintage fair at the weekend I came across a lovely brand called Skoczena who did the most beautiful millinery, embroidery and jewellery I have seen in a long time.
I’m going through a bit of a country phase at the moment, i.e. tweed jacket, Barbour coat, string of pearls and the preppy shirt, much to the hilarity of my fellow office workers. Anyway I fell in love with Skoczena’s amazing handmade feathered brooches, and although they would fit in with my current theme I also think they would look pretty fierce worn with an uber contemporary dress or a structured Vivien Westwood shirt , yi’no mixing old with new.
Have a look:

I am a big fan of the feathered ones but love the mix of the vintage brooch with the kinda tartan material… all very Scottish and lovely.
Visit the Skoczena here.

went to a lovely vintage fair at the weekend held at Oran Mor.
Picked up a lovely charm bracelet that had little shields in multi colours that spelt out BURLINGTON with a little Vermont badge at the end.

I also got a retro cameo ring that had some funky pink flamingos on it. Sort of got a fascination with flamingos.
Thought it was a totally original piece until I just Googled Flamingo Cameo Ring and discovered it really isn’t all that vintage! All the same its pretty Cool!

Erin Fetherston

Erin Fetherston has to have, without a doubt, the prettiest design I have ever seen.

Above, Fall Winter 2009: If there is a heaven, this is what I imagine the angels would wear…

Above, Spring 2009: love the shimmery palazzo pants

Above, Autumn Winter 2009: such a fun collection for Autumn- reminds me a bit of Luella.
My life would be greatly enhanced if I owned one of her mini hoop skirts, they are simply devine although a bit unsure how you would manage the whole sitting down thing… I may not get the skirt but I will def be purchasing some black and white stripey tights for Winter.
It appears that Erin Fetherston is only available in the USA, however, you can buy online at Forwardforward.com who stock pieces from the Spring 2009 collection including this wee number with that lovely shimmery, mermaid like material-

Check out the Erin Fetherston website here, make a point of watching her ’special projects’ Zooey Duschanel features in one!

I am contemplating this Knitted Cardigan from Topshop…
The idea of the looking all wrapped up in this shaggy cardigan then having the occasional flash of skin through the mesh panelling is too much for me to resist. I think I want it, bad.
I keep getting into trouble for the amount of clothingI buy but to be fair I feel that this item would be an all year rounder, making the cost per wear very low…
It kinda reminds me of the Alexander Wang jumper as seen on Fashion Toast.

All worn together!
