Dark, gothic and somewhat moody- just like my mind today. Has rained all day today, need to escape the rain where ever I go maybe I can wear a Mark Frost frock… whatever-  it just so depressing am yearning for the frost and biting cold that pushes the wet of autumn. On the up side I see Starbucks have brought back the Gingerbread Latte- joy!

There I am minding my own business, happy in the fact that I had curbed my spending habits down this month then… Aqua Couture unleash these amazing wares that make my head hurt I want them so bad!

It’s a close call.

I was pointed in the direction of Goldie London by a dear friend who is a regular at the Portobello market and a big fan of the brand.

Cute, sexy and with a touch of theatrics; I am especially loving their use of feathers and cardigans; both of which I am some what obsessed with at the moment- am in the market for the perfect cardigan and am loving the use of feathers instead of statement jewellery.

I recently bought a heather grey maxi tube dress from American Apparel which I intend to wear as a skirt.

I love it, its super tight but flattering and I love playing around with different hem lengths. So bored of seeing the same short skirts everywhere!

I had bought it with the intention of wearing it as a skirt but I now find myself in a bit of a pickle as to how to wear it…. I’m struggling to get over the stereotype i hold that long dress/skirts are summer or wedding garb and well it is winter in Glasgow and I’m very lucky if theres a day it does pour with rain. So how do I wear it?

I thought maybe with these Topshop shoes I recently bought, a white shirt and some hiking socks…

Ever since I saw Amy Thompsons Plastic Analogue collection online it has been playing at the back of my mind popping back into consciousness every so often.

As with the rest of the hig street devotees I am loving a bit of the sci fi shoulders that are everywhere but I am really seeking out something truly a bit different. Plastic Analogue is, in my eyes, different; futuristic plastic body panelling over vivid silk leggings and body con tunics. I really love that the plastic panelling although sharp in structure and construction is soft in colour and appears almost satin like….

Less of my rambles, here is what the designer had to say about it:

Flat pack construction techniques create an alternative and unique method of manipulating exaggerated armour inspired polypropylene structures into contemporary interlocking garments and accessories, whilst sections of specially designed lenticular lenses are used to provide visually hypnotic and oscillating patterns that spin and change colour according to which angle the garment is viewed at. Underneath the sculpted pieces, abstract body mapping patterns and computer avatars create quirky textile prints that are digitally printed onto bodywear pieces and voluminous silk dresses that represent the skeletal human body, vulnerable and in need of protection. The strength and protection provided by the strong lines and pronounced contours of the body encasing outer-garments are contradicted by their translucent qualities and therefore become merely an illusion of security.

Complicated stuff… but with amazing results! An refreshing change to the liuid leggings and shoulder padded shoulders of the high street.

I love Tatty Devine, in particular their cute name necklaces which were mad in Aberdeen but not so much in Glasgow funnily enough!

The new collection is called Button Up and as the name suggests features jewellery made of buttons- for some bizarre reason I hate jewellery made of buttons, I always think I could make it myself but then I never do… anyway despite the buttons Tatty have produced some really beautiful pieces featuring one of my favourite characters ever! Pierrot the Clown!

On another note I think that this clown circus theme has serious legs…. pom poms are gonna be big this winter. Really want to try my hand at making some to glue onto shirt buttons- but thats for another time another day!

The Spring/Summer 2010 collection as you would expect had the wow ohmygod amahzing factor sending models down the runway with their bits hidden by sheer ribbon, lion mane hair, silver and sci fi ankle wings! However, hidden amongst it all was a few softer pieces in pale pink and baby blue matte, and a hint of tulle which I really loved.

Here are a few highlights:

I loved Luella’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection! It was like a fusion between Amy Winehouse and the Stepford Wives!

It was big bows, big hair, prim accessories, bold eyes, 50s inspired dresses and suits, polka dots and mad hats- similar to old fashioned swimming caps!

I love it all!
