Tatty Devine

I love Tatty Devine, in particular their cute name necklaces which were mad in Aberdeen but not so much in Glasgow funnily enough!

The new collection is called Button Up and as the name suggests features jewellery made of buttons- for some bizarre reason I hate jewellery made of buttons, I always think I could make it myself but then I never do… anyway despite the buttons Tatty have produced some really beautiful pieces featuring one of my favourite characters ever! Pierrot the Clown!

There is something about the Pierrot drawings that I find beautiful!

On another note I think that this clown circus theme has serious legs…. pom poms are gonna be big this winter. Really want to try my hand at making some to glue onto shirt buttons- but thats for another time another day!

Pam Hogg

Always guaranteed to shock, excite and tickle Pam Hogg is one of my all time favourites!

The Spring/Summer 2010 collection as you would expect had the wow ohmygod amahzing factor sending models down the runway with their bits hidden by sheer ribbon, lion mane hair, silver and sci fi ankle wings! However, hidden amongst it all was a few softer pieces in pale pink and baby blue matte, and a hint of tulle which I really loved.

Here are a few highlights:

Luella Spring/Summer 2010

I loved Luella’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection! It was like a fusion between Amy Winehouse and the Stepford Wives!

It was big bows, big hair, prim accessories, bold eyes, 50s inspired dresses and suits, polka dots and mad hats- similar to old fashioned swimming caps!

I love it all!

Christopher Kane for Topshop

Don’t want to go on about Christopher Kane for Topshop too much as I feel that it’s all I have heard about the past week.

It is an amazing collection and although some may consider it a little pricey for the high street definately a worthy investment. I certainly have my eyes on a few pieces, in particular this Gem Bustcup Dress. The saccrine pink colour, embellishment and full skirt is over the top cuteness which when paired with some fierce heels like Kane has styled it looks brilliant.

Asos Designer Collaborations

Asos launched a Designer Collaboration called the Hub today, giving the Christopher Kane collection at Topshop a run for its money I am sure.

Here are some of the amazing things you can pick up:

n.b. the gold supped up shoulder top below doesn’t appear to be for sale yet but it is amazing!

Given that I am a big fan of silk scarfs and had intended to buy a wool snood I am very interested in the way they styled the above scarf… something to experiment with.

Colder nights…

…lead to thoughts of layering and wrapping up warm and although the leaves are only very just turning orange and crisp I have started looking the annual hunt for the perfect winter coat, which I failed to find last year, and all the lovely cosy accessories to go with…

Under a 3/4 sleeved coat or dress these gloves would look amazing.

Is it just me or is this the most 90’s hat ever, reminds me of Blossom- who I often get told I look like, which kinda makes me want to get this even more, y’know just to ham it up a bit!

All these things I want and more….

New header

I love my new header! It comes courtesy of my lovely friend and colleague Pammie who is one of the most talented web and graphic designers in the world!

She will be starting her own blog very shortly and when she lets me have a peek, she’s keeping it all a bit hush hush at the mo, I will post a link to it asap!

Hope you like it too!

HEMYCA

When I saw that HEMYCAs Autumn Winter 2009 collection was inspired by the Venetian architecture I knew I would love it. Venice has to be one of my most favourite places in the world, expensive yes it is, full of tourist yes I know but there is a certain magic quality about it that makes it truly breathtaking. I totally agree with Luigi Barzini of the New York times when he said it is “undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man”.

Anyway, moving on, the A/W collection is stunning, beautifully constructed and look like they would flatter any womanly figure. The lace and leather add a bit of sex, and although I am not a big fan of maxi dresses or long skirts in general but I have fallen for the long red satin skirt paired with the lace top. A sophisticated alternative to the usual red carpet gaudy glitz. Similarly I really enjoy the long pvc gloves, a nice hint of S&M that will liven up any outfit!

Made Her Think

Recently came across this amazing jewellery designer called Made Her Think.
The pieces are dark and imaginative mixing strong symbolism with delicate stones and detailing. What’s more many of the pieces come in several different materials, mostly gun metal, silver or gold.

As far as I can see Made Her Think is only available in the US, fingers crossed they will be in the UK soon.

Bordelle Lingerie

I’m not usually all that pysched by underwear but having just looked at Bordelle Autumn Winter 2009 collection I have to say I’m intruiged. Touching upon fetish & S&M Bordelle has created a collection of undies and night dresses that for some reason I would not be happy just wearing under my clothes, this is a collection that must be worn as outerwear. Stunningly dark and sexy.
